Georgia Price Pewitt, 94, of Valdosta died on Sunday, March 07, 2010 at Langdale Hospice House following a brief illness. She was born on August 27, 1915 in Brooks County to the late Thomas Osgood and Carrie Cooper Price. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She loved her family, friends and neighbors.

Survivors include a sister, Mae P. Baker of Valdosta; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul P. and JoAnn Price of Valdosta; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Waters Price of Quitman; nieces and nephews and their families, Claudette Young of Bedford, Texas, Sterling and Jan Price of Oklahoma City, OK., Emory Price of Spartenburg, SC, Herbert and Pat Price of Dixie, Ga., Patsy Wider of Morven, Beth and John Tillman of Hahira, Nancy and Steve Kautzman of Valdosta, David Price of Morven, Larry and Shirley Price of Albany, Kay Hall of Valdosta, Kenneth and Linda Price of Brooks County, George and Taffy Price of Valdosta, Janie and Danny Dunlap of Germantown, TN., Paula and Rusty Fleetwood of Valdosta, Arthur Ray and Janice Baker, Ann and William Yeomans, Jerry Don and Polly Baker, Debbie and Mike Everson all of Valdosta; many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas (Tom) Pewitt, and three brothers, Thomas Claude Price, Burton Lorenzo Price, and James Burchett Price, and nephew Billy Price.

Services for Georgia Pewitt will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Hart, Mr. Larry Price, and Rev. Mike Everson officiating. The burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to VSU Division of Social Work, My Friends House, Alzheimer's Day Program at 1500 N.
