Marlys D. Harris, 71, of Valdosta went home to be with Jesus Friday, February 5, 2010 after a long illness. She was born on October 15, 1938 in Watertown, South Dakota to the late Carl and Elsie Hemp Cohoon and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Grace Bible Church and the Gideon Auxilliary. She was a veteran of the United States Army having served as 2nd Lieutenant in the Nurse Corp.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Harris of Valdosta, her son and daughter in law, John L. (Jay) Harris, IV and Stacey Bristow Harris, her daughter and son in law, Terri Harris Wildes and Andrew G. (Andy) Wildes of Valdosta and her four grandchildren, Luc Harris, Brie Harris, Drew Wildes and David Wildes.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Mrs. Harris. Memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P. O.
